We are currently hiring a Corporate Purchaser in Victoria, BC. Compensation for this role is between $60,000.00 and $75,000.00 a year. In addition, we offer health and dental perks, profit sharing program, RRSP matching, and a variety of other perks!
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:



Manage and maintain the automated Purchasing & Inventory systems.
Data input of Purchase Orders
Ensure Purchase Orders are correctly issued according to Company Policy in a timely manner and in support of Project Managers and Supervisors
Monitor and ensure pricing provided by suppliers is accurate and competitive
Ensure that deliveries against Purchase Orders are accurate and ensure proper controls are in place to identify and resolve pricing and quantity variances
Identify cost-saving opportunities through bulk purchasing or supplier consolidation
Track long-lead items and notify project teams of potential delays
Maintain effective working relationships with vendors, customers and team members
Work with warehouse staff to maintain appropriate stock levels
Assist with the maintenance of the company tool program, including tracking, repairs, and purchasing of tools
Assist with or complete periodic inventory counts as required
Train project or warehouse staff on purchasing procedures as needed
Support continuous improvement of purchasing procedures and controls
Other duties as required.
Qualifications: Robust organizational skills and attention to detail
Purchasing experience in electrical or construction materials is preferred; three years’ experience preferred
Understanding of electrical drawings, prints, and system components
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience using computerized purchasing, inventory, and ERP system
Experience using Jonas Construction an asset
Ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and relationship-management skills
Experience negotiating supplier pricing and contracts
Related degree, diploma, Red Seal ticket, or purchasing/procurement certification considered an asset
