Christ the King School Invites applicants for aSchool Counsellor – 0.5 FTE Versatile Schedule Start Date: September 1st, 2026 – June 30th, 2027 with the possibility of becoming permanentMission Statement: “CTK provides a safe and nurturing Catholic community, which encourages a diverse group of students to learn and develop through excellent academic and extracurricular programs”.

The successful applicant will:

- Hold a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
- Hold a Guidance Counsellor Certificate (Post Bach or Master’s in Counselling preferred)
- Demonstrate a teaching philosophy in keeping with the Catholic faith
- Be an effective communicator with co-workers, students, parents and outside agencies
- Have strong organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Qualifications:

- Knowledge of current Child Protection Legislation and thorough knowledge of community supports and resources;
- Ability to provide effective consultation to school administration, teachers, staff, students and parents regarding personal, social and emotional needs of students;
- Ability to conduct a needs assessment and evaluation of bullying, violence, for at-risk behaviours;




- Ability to provide individual/group counselling and support for at-risk students in the areas of personal, social-emotional and academic development;
- Ability to prepare and deliver guidance lessons to all students to develop life skills, promote good character, develop resilience, and emphasize the importance of higher education and goal setting;
- Excellent written and verbal skills;
- Excellent time management and leadership skills;
- Child Abuse Registry Check and Criminal Record Check documents will be required prior to commencement of employment.
