Please see Special Instructions for more details.This position is conditionally funded and does not qualify for conversion under the AUPE Collective Agreement.Position InformationPosition TitleEducational AidePosition SummaryThe Educational Aide supports the ECS specialist in the teaching and learning of the students in the Kindergarten Program.The Educational Aide may also provide relief child care in the Child Care Centre as needed.Position ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities of the Educational Aide include:Provide guidance the children in the areas of personal care and behaviour management.Support the instructional programming under the direction of the ECS Specialist.Required QualificationsChild Care Educator Level 1 or higherHigh school diploma or equivalentClear Criminal Record Check and Childcare welfare checkWHIMIS CertificateFood Handlers CertificateA minimum of six months related experienceStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to treat children in a respectful, responsible & fair mannerAbility to demonstrate an understanding of fostering independence in childrenexcellent play skills and flexibilityAbility to refer parents to the ECS Specialist for information and assistanceAbility to work successfully in a team environmentAbility to maintain and promote confidentiality as the normAbility to supervise children to ensure a protected environmentAbility to assist the teacher in the preparation of materialAbility to provide feedback on observations of children to the ECS SpecialistPreferred QualificationsCompletion of a 1-year college certificate, one year University or equivalentSalary or Hourly?HourlySalary $22.18 per hourBenefits and Compensation InformationAn additional 15% of the hourly rate in lieu of vacation,
