Firehouse Subs Restaurant General Manager
Are you an outgoing and high‑energy individual who thrives in fast‑paced environments? We are recruiting a Restaurant General Manager to join us in delivering the best subs and guest experience in the industry!

Location: 80 McAllister Drive, Saint John, New Brunswick

The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for overseeing a team in all aspects of restaurant operations. They will lead, mentor, and support the restaurant team and consistently motivate the team to achieve the highest standard of customer service and ensure efficiency in all aspects of the business. This position will lead our Assistant Manager, Shift Leads, and Team Members on the front lines of our operations, adhering to and enforcing our standards, and ensuring that our guests are presented with a great experience.

This position will report to the Director of Operations.

Core Responsibilities

Provide leadership to the restaurant team to consistently meet standards of superior guest service, quality and cleanliness while embracing the Firehouse Subs culture.

Prepare schedules, manage labour costs, and ensure the restaurant is always properly staffed.

Manage inventory and food cost, place orders, ensure FIFO usage and prop correct storage.

Assign daily tasks to team members, ensuring timely prep and a ready setup.

Ensure profitability by operating within the guidelines for food cost, labour, controllable costs, utilities and sales growth.

Measure and evaluate performance standards (KPIs).

Develop and implement plans for continuous service improvement.

Maintain operational and occupational health and safety standards.





Handle guest problems and complaints efficiently and positively.

Implement game plans and company initiatives profitably and on schedule.

Accountable for the training and development of the Assistant Manager, Shift Leaders and Team Members.

Participate actively in local restaurant marketing.

Promote Public Safety Foundation initiatives.

Communicate with the Director of Operations about any issues that may impact the business.

Maintain restaurant equipment in working order and report problems immediately.

Maintain cleaning routines and overall cleanliness.

Qualifications and Skills

2+ years of restaurant management experience, or 2+ years in a supervisory role in a restaurant environment.

Positive attitude and readiness to manage the team and serve customers with a smile.

Ability to hire, train, and motivate a high‑performance team.

Understanding of food and labour cost management.

Ability to interpret a profit‑and‑loss statement and operate at maximum profitability.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical and decision‑making skills.

Leadership skills – able to direct, coach, and supervise a team.

Team‑oriented attitude.

Efficiency during high‑volume peak periods.

Flexible work hours: day, evening, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.

Additional Requirements

Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite required.

Job requires 40‑44 hours per week or as needed for the business.

Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
