The Platoon Supervisor will provide leadership, direction, and support to Public Safety Communicators while helping ensure the effective operation of PECC South and its systems. They play an important role in coaching staff, supporting operational readiness, and fostering a professional, service-focused environment that supports emergency responders and the public across Saskatchewan.
QUALIFICATIONS: Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work in Canada.
Minimum four years of experience in emergency communications, public safety, emergency response, or a related operational environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and support team performance in a fast-paced operational environment.
Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute accurately.
Strong computer proficiency and the ability to learn and navigate multiple software systems.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Successful completion of a hearing assessment.
Valid Class 5 driver's license.
Access to reliable transportation.
Ability and willingness to travel as required.
Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check.
Successful completion of additional background screening, assessments, and verification processes as required for the position.
ASSETS APCO Communications Centre Supervisor certification.
APCO Public Safety Telecommunicator Certification.
Leadership experience within a public safety or emergency communications environment.
Post-secondary education.
TRAINING Training for successful candidates will primarily occur in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and is expected to last approximately 16 weeks.
WORKING CONDITIONS Location: Provincial Emergency Communications Centre South, Regina, Saskatchewan.
Hours of Work: 2,080 hours annually, shift work.
Physical Demands: Requires extended periods of sitting and working in a high-paced, focused, technology-driven communications centre environment
