Welder Lead Hand
Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug test will be required as a condition of employment.

Shift Schedules

Monday - Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm

Friday - Sunday, 6:00am to 7:00pm

Current job opening: weekend shift

What You’ll Be Doing

Fabrication and Welding tasks

Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications

Operate manual or semi‑automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux‑cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)

Operate manual or semi‑automatic flame‑cutting equipment

Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines

Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits

Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance, and repair techniques

Adhere and comply with company policies and Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations

Maintain safe work practices

Travel to jobsite to perform onsite welding and field fits, as required

Other duties as assigned

Machine inspection and maintenance

Maintain and clean all machines and tools

Report requirements for repairs to supervisor





Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports

Processing jobs according to defined company policies and protocols

Receive instructions from Welding Supervisor for each job

Provide details necessary to the administration office for job number assignment

Review, understand, and complete work order

Follow detailed instructions on the order and ask for clarification prior to starting the job

Ensure all parts and components used in the recertification process are recorded to the job number

Accurate and detailed tracking of time spent on jobs

Team Leadership

Assign daily work activities to team members in alignment with production schedules and project deadlines

Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members while working alongside them

Lead by example in productivity, work ethic, and attention to detail

Promote a safe, organized, and efficient shop environment

Ensure all team members adhere to all company policies, procedures and occupational health and safety regulations

Communicate job status, issues, and concerns to the Welding Supervisor in a timely manner

What You Bring To The Table

Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent

Valid CWB welding certification, GMAW and SMAW, certified in all positions

Minimum of one (1) year experience welding in a heavy manufacturing workplace

Possess welding and fabrication skills and knowledge

Manual dexterity required to use power and hand tools

Experience with routine maintenance operations

Must be adaptable to a changing work environment,



competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events

Ability to use judgment and apply discretion when making decisions

Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate others

Strong time‑management skills; ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

Strong interpersonal skills

Strong ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Possess a positive and professional attitude, set a high standard, and convey professionalism at all times

Any valid safety‑related training certificates would be considered an asset (i.e., WHMIS, forklift, fall protection, etc.)

Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
