Location: Halifax - Wilkinson, Canada

Regulatory Compliance Requirements

Requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software, technology or technical data controlled under the Canadian Export Control List, the ITAR or the EAR

Requires a positive Controlled Goods assessment as you will have direct access to hardware, software, technology or technical data controlled under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program

Required to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance at the NATO Secret Level

Position Summary
We have a current vacancy for a Technical Material Expediter who ensures all customer-facing service delivery work has the required materials. The Technical Material Expediter has the additional task of identifying and coordinating alternate sources of material when the primary source is unavailable.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Generate, communicate and update a Work Period-focused materials availability schedule to each Service Lead

Corrective Maintenance (unplanned) material prime. Create material demand in the Thales systems, track and update reservations to support work items

Review Bills-of-Material (BOMs) for Preventative Maintenance Short Work Periods, requesting changes as required from LCMMs

Set material Priority and elevate to Service Delivery Management when required

Resolve material requirements that are unavailable for the Work, coordinating with Supply Support Specialists, the Material Demand Planner, and the Service Lead. Investigate and advise on alternative methods of obtaining outstanding material where required

Raise requisitions for material and equipment required to support maintenance activities

Track material availability and delivery dates for each service period, and communicate to the service team the impact and dates of each item

Initiate the materials obsolescence process when required

Participate in regular team meetings, advising on material status,



and recommending remedial action for any potential issues

Complete assigned tasks within time and cost constraints to meet contracted Key Performance Indicator (KPI) requirements within the program in accordance with Thales policy

Participate in root-cause investigations for material, as required

Other duties as assigned by Management

Minimum Qualifications

At least 3 years’ experience working with the Military, and/or on a Defence contract or project

Excellent communication and people skills; adept at interfacing between multiple internal/external stakeholders

Strong computer literacy and proficient in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel

Previous experience working with SAP, MAXIMO or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system

Experience with the Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) an asset

Strong clerical skills, with high attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and work autonomously

Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities

Experience working within procurement, finance, project management or Supply Chain & Warehousing environments

Open minded and able to listen; share ideas while bringing added value / capturing innovation

Preferred Qualifications

Defence Industry experience an asset

Knowledge of Material Logistics methods and implementation

Special Position Requirements
Must meet all federal government requirements to access Canadian government facilities, including naval dockyards.

Schedule: 40 hours per week

Physical Setting: Hybrid position, a mix of working from home and on-site (in office,



at customer sites, or on board ships alongside in harbour)

Compensation
The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between Total Target Cash (TTC) $70,000-85,000 CAD Annual .
