Provide vital frontline support as a Family Support Worker at Anishinaabe Abinoojii Family Services. This role is designed for those committed to strengthening family functioning among First Nation communities.
In this six-month contract position, your focus will be on offering direct support services to children and families involved in family support initiatives. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure the delivery of culturally appropriate services, reflecting Anishinaabe values. Your job will include engaging with families to create service plans and providing emotional and practical assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver direct support to youth and families in programs
• Facilitate access to community support resources
• Implement family service plans collaboratively
• Engage families in cultural programming and healing practices
• Document interactions and maintain confidentiality
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or diploma in relevant social services
• Experience working with First Nation families
• Knowledge of relevant child welfare principles
• Ability to handle compliance and quality assurance
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred
