Tax Audit Supervisor (TX4) – Department of Finance, Audit Branch, Taxation, Winnipeg, MB
THIS POSITION IS OPEN ONLY TO EMPLOYEES OF THE MANITOBA PUBLIC SERVICE.
This position seeks a qualified candidate to fill the Tax Audit Supervisor (TX4) position within the Audit Branch under the Taxation Division. The Audit Branch conducts audits for the purpose of protecting tax revenues, which total more than $4 Billion. Staffing these positions is critical to ongoing business operations and to transferring knowledge to newer audit staff.

Salary : TX4 $97,818.00 – $122,822.00

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager of Audit, oversee performance of the auditing team.
May be required to conduct audits on the largest and most complex taxpayer files within the jurisdiction as audit senior.
Monitor, review and evaluate audit output of audit groups to ensure adequate coverage and compliance with Taxation Statutes.
Qualifications
Essential
Completion of a relevant university degree and a CPA designation in good standing. Suitable combination of education, training,
and experience may be considered.
Extensive experience completing large complex audits, preferably in the Taxation Division and a thorough knowledge of accounting and auditing principles.
Experience leading and supervising staff, including reviewing and monitoring audit programs, training, performance management, and workload distribution.
Extensive experience interpreting and applying the Tax Statutes, Regulations and policies administered by the Taxation Division.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Solid verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate information to a variety of audiences.
Strong written communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
Extensive experience working with GenTax.
Desired
Experience utilizing computer‑assisted audit software and computer‑assisted audit techniques.
Conditions of Employment
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Records Check.
Must provide and maintain satisfactory credit screening and credit check.
Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
Must have the ability to travel for periods of up to two weeks at a time and up to six to eight weeks per year.
