Job title: Senior Development Accountant
Salary: $90,000–$95,000 base salary + 10% bonus + benefits
Role status: Toronto, ON – 4 days in office

Intro paragraph: Our client is seeking a Senior Development Accountant to support the accounting and financial management of several active development projects. This role works closely with the finance and development teams and will support projects through the full lifecycle, from acquisition and pre-construction through construction and stabilization. The portfolio includes a mix of residential and commercial projects, offering strong exposure to the operational and financial side of real estate development.
Principal tasks and responsibilities include:
Prepare and submit construction loan draws
Track development costs, capitalized interest, and project funding activity
Monitor development budgets against actual spending and investigate variances




Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules
Support JV, lender, and investor reporting requirements
Review work from outsourced property accountants and ensure accuracy of reporting
Assist with forecasting, project cash flow tracking, and financial analysis
Support ongoing project reporting and ad hoc development finance requirements
Qualifications and pre-requisites: 2+ years of development accounting experience
Strong understanding of development project accounting and project cost tracking
Experience with construction loan draws, development budgets, and project reporting
Exposure to financial statements, lender reporting, and JV structures
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical ability
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Must be comfortable working in office four days per week
