Reporting to the Vice President, Materials, this senior position will provide technical and practice leadership while supporting complex forensic investigations, client relationships, business development, and the continued growth and development of the Geotechnical team.The successful candidate will bring strong geotechnical consulting experience, technical expertise, and a demonstrated ability to lead projects, develop people, and build trusted client relationships.Role responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Lead the Geotechnical practice at 30 Forensic Engineering, including managing a small team as necessary and supporting the growth of the practice over time.Participate in firm leadership providing input on overall firm management, goals, and marketing.Provide technical leadership for geotechnical investigations, projects, and assignmentsDevelop and execute a business plan for Geotechnical practice in support of the organization's strategic objectivesBuild and maintain robust client relationships while identifying and pursuing business development and market growth opportunitiesLead and manage geotechnical projects in accordance with approved scopes of work, budgets, schedules, reporting requirements,
and client agreementsOversee client service deadlines, budgeting, invoicing, and accounts receivable for the Geotechnical practicePerform and oversee site examinations, document reviews, field investigations, testing, and technical analysis related to geotechnical losses and failuresPrepare and review technical reports, ensuring investigations, analysis, and deliverables meet the firm's quality standardsEffectively communicate technical findings, opinions, and recommendations to clients, colleagues, legal counsel, and other stakeholdersProvide expert opinion and testimony in mediations, arbitrations, discoveries, trials, and other legal proceedings, as requiredMentor and develop members of the Geotechnical team, providing technical direction and opportunities for professional and business growthCollaborate with professionals across the firm on multidisciplinary investigations, projects, and business development opportunitiesRepresent the firm through industry conferences, seminars, professional associations, and other client and community activitiesPerform additional duties as requiredRequirements:Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering or a related engineering disciplineA minimum of 10-15 years of progressive post degree experience in geotechnical engineering, including significant experience within a consulting engineering environmentCurrently registered as a Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario, or eligible for registrationDemonstrated experience in a senior technical, project management,
or practice leadership capacityStrong understanding of the commercial and operational aspects of consulting engineering practiceDemonstrated ability to lead teams and work effectively with professionals across different disciplinesExcellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skillsExperience working on complex forensic, litigation, or failure investigation matters would be considered an assetValid driver's license and access to a vehicleAbility and willingness to travel as requiredOur Mission:We are problem solvers.
