Applications Engineer – Data

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 6-month contract with potential extensions and FTE conversion

We’re looking for an Applications Engineer with a strong data focus to help support and enhance the technology powering Finance, FP&A;, and enterprise business systems. This role blends application integration, data engineering, financial systems, reporting, and emerging AI technologies.

What You’ll Do

- Build and maintain financial data warehouses, models, transformations, and reconciliation processes
- Develop integrations between SaaS applications using APIs, middleware, ETL/ELT tools, and Python
- Help scale and improve the organization’s data and application integration environment
- Support financial planning platforms, including data loads, integrations, model maintenance, and enhancements
- Develop financial and operational reporting, dashboards, and analytics
- Improve data quality, monitoring, documentation, and governance across applications and pipelines
- Build secure integrations that make finance and ERP data accessible to AI assistants and agentic workflows
- Apply AI and automation to improve data engineering, reporting, and business processes
- Partner with Finance, FP&A;,



and ERP teams to turn business needs into practical technical solutions
- Work with third-party vendors and provide technical support to internal users

What You’ll Bring

- 3–5+ years of experience in applications engineering, data engineering, analytics engineering, systems integration, or related roles
- Strong SQL and hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses; BigQuery preferred
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Fivetran, dbt, Airflow, and/or Python
- Experience integrating SaaS applications through APIs and middleware
- Experience with financial planning/EPM platforms such as Pigment, Anaplan, or Adaptive
- Understanding of financial processes and experience partnering with Finance or FP&A;
- Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI and solid Excel skills
- Familiarity with ERP platforms and financial data models; NetSuite experience is a plus
- Exposure to AI/LLM technologies and Model Context Protocol (MCP) is highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
