Join our team as a Mental Health Liaison Nurse in the Emergency Department, specializing in psychiatric assessments and crisis management. A minimum of 3 years in acute mental health is required.
This position offers the opportunity to directly influence patient care by providing specialized mental health consultations. You'll assess and plan interventions for patients, while also supporting families under emotional distress. Your expertise will be vital in creating a cooperative care environment both in the Emergency Department and with inpatient services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess patients for mental health and risk factors
• Develop effective crisis intervention strategies
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient care




• Offer educational support to families and patients
• Provide valuable insights to inpatient units
Requirements:
• At least 3 years of recent acute mental health experience
• Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing diploma required
• Active registration with CRNM or CRPNM
• Proven communication skills in mental health contexts
• Understanding of community mental health resources
