Position Information Position Title Educational Aide Position Summary The Educational Aide supports the ECS specialist in the teaching and learning of the students in the Kindergarten Program. The Educational Aide may also provide relief child care in the Child Care Centre as needed. Position Responsibilities Responsibilities of the Educational Aide include: Provide guidance the children in the areas of personal care and behaviour management. Support the instructional programming under the direction of the ECS Specialist. Required Qualifications Child Care Educator Level 1 or higher High school diploma or equivalent Clear Criminal Record Check and Childcare welfare check WHIMIS Certificate Food Handlers Certificate A minimum of six months related experience Robust interpersonal skills Ability to treat children in a respectful, responsible & fair manner Ability to demonstrate an understanding of fostering independence in children excellent play skills and flexibility Ability to refer parents to the ECS Specialist for information and assistance Ability to work successfully in a team environment Ability to maintain and promote confidentiality as the norm Ability to supervise children to ensure a safe environment Ability to assist the teacher in the preparation of material Ability to provide feedback on observations of children to the ECS Specialist Preferred Qualifications Completion of a 1-year college certificate, one year University or equivalent Salary or Hourly? Hourly Salary $22.18 per hour Benefits and Compensation Information An additional 15% of the hourly rate in lieu of vacation,
