Currently, Bissell Centre is looking for a Team Lead, Housing Engagement to join our dedicated Housing Services team as we journey with the Community towards an elimination of poverty. How You’ll Make an Impact?
The Housing Engagement Team Lead provides day-to-day leadership, supervision, and operational oversight to a team of Housing Support Workers focused on supporting individuals experiencing homelessness to secure safe, appropriate, and sustainable housing. The Team Lead is responsible for ensuring the team delivers responsive, person-centred, and housing-focused services while meeting established program targets, funder requirements, and organizational expectations.
The Team Lead supports a strong culture of accountability, urgency, collaboration, and continuous improvement, ensuring participants receive timely assistance with housing navigation, landlord engagement, applications, documentation, financial supports, and connections to appropriate community resources. The position works closely with program leadership to identify trends,
address service gaps, strengthen housing pathways, and ensure the Housing Engagement Team consistently achieves measurable outcomes for individuals experiencing homelessness.
This position is based primarily on-site at the agency location, with regular community travel required to support staff, participants, and community partnerships.
- Provide day-to-day supervision, leadership, coaching, and support to 6-8 Housing Support Workers.
- Conduct regular supervision meetings and provide ongoing feedback regarding performance, professional development, and achievement of program expectations.
- Support staff in managing caseloads, prioritizing participants, and maintaining a strong focus on timely housing outcomes.
- Monitor individual and team performance with established housing targets and service delivery expectations.
- Support staff onboarding, orientation, training, and ongoing development of new and existing team members.
- Facilitate regular team meetings, case consultations, and opportunities for shared problem-solving.
What You’ll Bring?
- Post-Secondary Degree in a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of extensive employment experience including program development, case management, case supervision, evaluation, and supervisory skills.
- Alberta Class 5 License, satisfactory driver’s abstract, and a vehicle
- Previous supervisory experience would be an asset.
- Previous Housing First experience would be an asset.
- Experience working with high-risk populations and an understanding of Indigenous cultures, history, and current issues.
