Oversee the preparation of electrical drawing packages for substations, medium-voltage and low-voltage distribution, grounding and bonding, lighting, cable routing, equipment layouts, and installation details.
Perform or oversee power system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and arc-flash analysis.
Lead technical discussions and maintain effective relationships with customers, vendors, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Develop scopes, schedules, budgets, estimates, proposals, and technical presentations.
Conduct site visits, field investigations, inspections, construction support, and commissioning activities.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, technologists, and designers.
Prepare explicit feasibility studies, front-end engineering reports, capital plans, technical memoranda, and recommendations.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC, or eligibility for immediate registration.
Seven or more years of relevant electrical engineering experience in industrial sectors such as pulp and paper, mining, energy, utilities, manufacturing, or process industries.
Strong experience developing and reviewing complete electrical drawing and design packages.
Experience with substation design, medium-voltage power distribution, and low-voltage systems, including protection, grounding, cabling, lighting, and equipment specifications.
Experience performing or reviewing short-circuit, protection coordination, and arc-flash studies.
Strong working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, National Electrical Code, and relevant IEEE standards.
Demonstrated technical leadership and the ability to coordinate engineering deliverables.
Strong customer-facing, technical writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
Practical project management skills, including scope development, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and change management.
