We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the GMA Controllership team. Reporting directly to the GMA Controllership group, you will partner with business leaders and finance colleagues to provide accurate, timely, and value-added financial and accounting support.
This role is ideal for a motivated accounting professional who enjoys business partnering, financial analysis, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting financial planning, reporting, contract accounting, and business decision-making while collaborating with cross-functional teams across Canada. Your future duties and responsibilities
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by developing well-supported financial plans.
- Partner with business leaders to understand operations, explain financial drivers, and challenge assumptions where appropriate.
- Deliver accurate monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, and meaningful business insights.
- Manage project and client financials while interpreting contractual terms and assessing their accounting and financial implications.
- Apply sound accounting principles, including revenue recognition concepts, to support financial reporting.
- Analyze balance sheet accounts and ensure financial integrity.
- Recommend process improvements that increase reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate on special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with finance and operational stakeholders across the business.
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing finance team.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- Postsecondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA designation required. Candidates who are well advanced in the CPA process may also be considered.
- Approximately 3-5 years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience.
- Experience in public accounting, audit, or a similar accounting environment is considered highly valuable.
- Strong accounting foundation with experience in financial reporting and business partnering.
- Knowledge of IFRS and revenue recognition (15) principles is highly desirable.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including Pivot Tables and lookup functions) with strong analytical capabilities.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholders.
- Bilingual in English and French.
- Demonstrated initiative, autonomy, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative,
rapid-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $50,000–$100,000. This role is an existing vacancy. - Participer aux processus de budgétisation et de prévisions financières.
- Collaborer avec les partenaires d'affaires afin de soutenir leurs besoins financiers.
- Préparer les résultats financiers mensuels, analyser les écarts et présenter les conclusions.
- Assurer le suivi financier des projets et des contrats clients.
- Appliquer les principes comptables, incluant la reconnaissance des revenus.
- Analyser les comptes du bilan et assurer leur intégrité.
- Identifier et recommander des améliorations aux processus financiers.
- Participer à des initiatives d'amélioration continue et à des projets spéciaux.
- Développer des relations de collaboration avec les partenaires internes.
Qualifications
- Diplôme en comptabilité, finance ou domaine connexe.
- Titre CPA requis (ou candidat très avancé dans le processus CPA).
- 3 à 5 années d'expérience pertinente.
- Expérience en cabinet comptable ou en audit (atout).
- Solides connaissances comptables et des normes IFRS.
- Expérience en reconnaissance des revenus.
- Maîtrise avancée d'Excel et expérience avec un ERP.
- Excellentes habiletés de communication.
- Bilinguisme français et anglais.
