This position will report to the Geomatics Team Lead.Key ResponsibilitiesMentoring of junior field staff to ensure industry best practices are observed in the field and officeAdhere to and promote adherence to Stantec safety policiesDesign and implement traffic control plans as pertains to land surveying on regional roadways, highways & freewaysPerform field surveys in all weather conditionsPerform legal, topographic, engineering surveyingPerform legal field calculationUse GPS RTK and total stations survey equipment and their respective data collection systems to perform topographical surveysComplete terrestrial 3D LiDAR (3DLS) surveys of complex industrial facilitiesLocate and designate subsurface utilitiesUtilize unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to capture data using aerial LiDAR and photogrammetryWork in off road rugged terrain, urban and rural conditionsWork out of town in remote locations throughout Ontario & Eastern CanadaResearch survey records and land titles to obtain information about property boundaries and areas to be surveyed and coordinate findings with the work of engineers, clients and others involved in projectsResponsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipmentVerify the accuracy of field survey data,
including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sitesPerform other duties of a similar nature and level as assignedCapabilities and CredentialsExperienced with Trimble survey equipment including levels, RTK GPS, 3D LiDAR scanners and robotic total stationsExperience with Leica 3D LiDAR scanning equipmentHolder of an advanced UAV license with 100+ hours of flight time preferredExperience in equipment calibration & routine maintenanceExperience with MTO surveying standards is an asset, with OTM Book 7 certification and demonstrable experience surveying along roadwaysThorough understanding of Quality Assurance processes and documentation using Trimble Business CenterAbility to read and understand engineering design drawingsExperience with surveying in the oil & gas industry is an assetExperience with subsurface utility locating equipment & methodology an assetValid drivers licenseEducation and ExperienceGraduate of a university degree or college diploma in Geomatics, Engineering Technology, or a related disciplineExperience managing a field crew of 1-3 individualsAdvanced drone operators license would be preferredMinimum of 10 years’ experience in the land surveying industryAdditional InformationThis description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities,

Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
