Introduction Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure is responsible for establishing and managing public infrastructure, including provincial highways and roads, highway bridges and structures, water and flood control works, and northern airports and marine services.

It develops, communicates, and administers motor carrier regulatory and safety services.

The department also oversees and coordinates emergency preparedness, emergency response and disaster recovery to prevent the loss of life and minimize damages to property and the environment.

Duties: The Executive Director, Policy and Legislation Branch provides leadership and strategic direction on policy and legislative initiatives of Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure (MTI).

The Executive Director oversees the branch responsible for policy, legislation and regulatory administration, ensuring that policy and legislative initiatives are aligned with departmental objectives and emerging transportation needs, while cultivating robust advisory relationship with the Deputy Minister, Assistant Deputy Ministers, and senior managers.

Qualifications: Essential: Education/Degree in Sciences, Economics, Commerce, Business Management or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Significant senior level experience and expertise in leading the development, implementation and evaluation of programs, projects, and policies.





Experience working with a broad range of stakeholders including government, industry, Indigenous partners, community organizations and other interest groups.

Considerable experience in strategic planning at a senior level.

Experience in leading, supervising staff and managing human resource matters.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.

Excellent verbal communication skills; with the ability to explain complex issues clearly, lead discussions and listens to understand different perspectives.

Excellent written communication skills.

Strong financial management skills including budget preparation, financial management and reporting.

Ability to manage multiple complex priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set direction, lead teams and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. .

Strong political acumen with the ability to manage sensitive issues involving stakeholders, partners and media.

Conditions of Employment: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search Must have a valid Class 5 drivers license Must have the ability to travel by land or air Must have the ability to work extended hours or overtime as required
