The Senior Procurement

Specialist is responsible for one of CN’s strategic categories. The role supports the development, analysis and execution of innovative procurement strategies delivering sustainable enterprise value including achievement of cost reduction targets and CN’s Green House Gas (GHG) emissions strategy plan. The incumbent is responsible for developing and establishing key procurement strategies corresponding to the company’s locomotive power requirements and services.

The role also executes the delivery of key contracts, capturing the financial savings through negotiation of contract terms and conditions and monitoring of supplier performance. In addition, the position functions to analyze and present data during the baseline, strategize and deliver phases of the category management process, develop sourcing project plans, prepare procurement process documentation and manage the events through to evaluation and final recommendation.

Procurement Management

Develop the procurement category strategy and supplier market knowledge in collaboration with cross functional teams Conduct data analytics during different stages of the sourcing process commercial and legal clauses) Lead contracts, supplier relationships and supplier performance Collaborate with Buyers and end users ensuring all rates and agreements are appropriately administered in the Purchase to Pay (P2P) process (i.e., System,



Applications and Products (SAP), Ariba, Fieldglass, etc.) Ensure all internal requirements in terms of compliance to procurement policy respected Participate and support department-wide projects as required The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday and will currently be eligible to participate in our flexible work from home policy. The role requires occasional travel within Canada and the United States (U.Procurement Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Law, or equivalent Technical Skills/Knowledge Extensive knowledge and ability to understand complex contractual Terms and Conditions, RFx procedures, Letter of Intent (LOI), Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), commitment and demand forecasts and other contractual and commercial agreements Extensive knowledge of contractual financial aspects, such as Net Present Value (NPV), Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Consumer Price Index (CPI), Producer Price Index (PPI), etc. Ability to drive innovative analysis understanding market trends, cost drivers, suppliers and best practices Solid technical skills related to data tools and presentation of data Knowledge of supplier performance principles Basic knowledge of Incoterms,
