Location: Quebec, Canada Work Modality: Freelance / Independent Contractor Industry: Port Logistics / Industrial Operations / Wind Energy Employment Type: Project-Based EOSOL Group is seeking an experienced Logistics Port Supervisor to lead wind turbine component discharge operations and port laydown management.
The professional will serve as the on-site operational leader during vessel arrivals, overseeing unloading activities, stevedoring, storage, inventory control, contractor performance, and coordination with port authorities, vessel representatives, logistics providers, and project teams Responsibilities Lead vessel discharge activities from vessel arrival through completion of cargo unloading.
Coordinate stevedores, crane operators, terminal personnel, vessel crews, and port authorities.
Monitor discharge progress and productivity against project schedules.
Verify proper handling of blades, towers, drivetrains, hubs, nacelles, and auxiliary equipment.
Ensure cargo is discharged safely and placed in designated storage locations.
Oversee component storage, laydown, and inventory management within port facilities.
Maintain accurate location tracking and inventory records for all components.
Verify that rigging and lifting tools are certified and in good working condition.
Conduct daily safety briefings and field inspections.
Supervise subcontractors and port service providers.
Support truck loading operations and component release activities.
Report any cargo damage, shortages,
or non-conformances.
Maintain accurate operational records, inventory reports, and daily activity documentation.
Requirements: Requirements Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Maritime Operations, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered. 3+ years of experience in port operations, vessel discharge, heavy-lift logistics, maritime operations, or project cargo.
Experience managing contractors and port service providers.
Strong knowledge of cargo handling, storage yard operations, and transportation logistics.
Experience handling oversized and heavy-lift project cargo.
Experience with wind energy component logistics is highly desirable.
Knowledge of safety regulations and port operational requirements.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory tracking systems.
English required.
French required for Quebec.
Working Hours & Conditions Standard working hours: 10 hours per day, 6 days per week.
Rotations available, with a minimum schedule of 4 weeks on / 1 week off, if applicable.
Vehicle: SUV, F-150, or similar preferred (strictly NO sunroofs/moonroofs allowed).
Availability for physical field work in port and storage yard environments.
Freelance Terms Independent Contractor / Freelance engagement.
The skilled must be able to issue invoices for services rendered.
The contractor is responsible for their own tax obligations, insurance, and business expenses.
