We are seeking an experienced and proactive Purchasing Specialist to support our manufacturing and production operations by ensuring the timely procurement of materials, parts, and supplies. This role is responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring on-time deliveries that support production schedules and customer satisfaction.

Pay Range: $24 - $26 per hour.

What You'll Do Monitor Parts Room inventory and maintain appropriate stock levels to support ongoing production requirements.
Identify low-stock items and place orders in accordance with company purchasing policies.
Issue purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain procurement records, including pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules.
Expedite open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure delivery commitments are met.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, product quality standards, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and industry contacts.
Monitor supplier performance and communicate quality, delivery, or service concerns to management.




Assess current and future material requirements to support production planning.
Analyze product usage and purchasing trends to optimize inventory levels and costs.
Report supplier issues and supply chain risks to management as they arise.
Coordinate the return, disposal, or handling of surplus and obsolete materials.
Assist with inventory counts and audits as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Comply with all company health and safety policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of purchasing or related experience.
Experience using ERP/MRP systems to manage inventory transactions, purchase orders, and material requirements (Dynamics GP preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications Automotive manufacturing or aftermarket parts industry experience.
Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional purchasing designation (SCMP, PMAC, or equivalent) is considered an asset.
Experience managing inventory and materials planning in a production environment.
Knowledge of automotive parts, accessories, and manufacturing materials.
Competencies Strong understanding of purchasing processes and inventory control practices.
Effective negotiation, supplier management skills, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.




Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve inventory, receiving, and material-related issues.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple orders, requests, and deadlines simultaneously.
Physical Requirements Moderate physical activity, including bending, lifting, reaching, and twisting.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 25 kg (55 lbs.).
Working Conditions This role operates within a manufacturing workplace and involves a combination of office-based purchasing activities and hands-on inventory management within the Parts Room. The successful candidate will work closely with production teams, vendors, and shipping/receiving personnel to maintain material availability and support uninterrupted production. The position requires the ability to prioritize multiple requests, manage changing production demands, and respond to supply chain challenges in a fast-paced environment.
