Support residents with engaging therapy programs at The Salvation Army as a Recreation Assistant. Work closely with the Recreation Therapy Manager to enhance the lives of senior populations.

The Salvation Army is seeking a dedicated Recreation Assistant to join their interdisciplinary care team. In this role, you will assist in the development and execution of therapeutic recreation programs, focusing on individual and group activities. This position requires a passion for supporting individuals with mental health conditions while ensuring adherence to the standards set by the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in program development and execution for residents
• Compile monthly statistics and calendars for activities
• Engage with residents, staff,



and families during programs
• Communicate effectively to report on resident progress
• Provide input on therapeutic recreation needs

Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in Recreation Therapy or related experience
• CPR and Standard First Aid certification
• Explicit Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
• Class 5 driver’s license with a clean record
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
