A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COMMERCIAL SUPERINTENDENT
As a Commercial Superintendent, you bring structure, supervision, and accountability to every job site. You coordinate crews, subcontractors, and resources to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of safety and craftsmanship. Each day, you monitor progress, conduct inspections, and collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and adjusters to resolve challenges and keep communication clear. You take ownership of your sites, ensuring quality work, well-documented progress, and a culture of safety and teamwork. Your ability to lead by example and problem-solve in real time helps deliver successful projects and build long-term client trust.
Qualifications
2-3 years of commercial construction or restoration experience with a strong background in site supervision/leading trades
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in construction or related field an asset
Knowledge of commercial building codes, safety regulations, and inspection requirements
Proven ability to organize, schedule, and direct multiple crews and subcontractors
Robust leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a focus on teamwork and accountability
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite/Site Reports
IICRC certifications or equivalent an asset; ability to obtain provincial asbestos certification required
Valid driver's license and clean driving abstract (FULL G)
Must be able to participate in a rotating on-call schedule - over time and irregular shift work
Ability to complete work activities that may involve material handling, lifting, climbing, and the use of personal protective equipment including respirators, safety footwear, and other required gear
Ability to travel for extended periods for CAT assignments
Salary: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
