Now hiring a Lead Carpenter to be responsible for performing high-quality carpentry work while providing daily direction to co-workers and on-site personnel.
Reporting to Site Supervisor and Project Manager, this role requires a professional individual with strong communication and leadership skills capable of maintaining composure while working under tight timelines.
Offering a wage range of $40 – $45 per hour plus extended benefits.
About the Role, Benefits & Perks:
Wage: range of $40 – $45 per hour based on experience
Location: Whistler
Schedule: Monday to Friday – 40 hours/week – 8hrs/day
Extended hours and/or weekend work may be required at times to maintain project schedule
Eligible for the extended benefits package after 3 months of full-time
The Perfect Candidate:
Carpentry certification and/or equivalent experience/skill level
Experienced with residential and commercial projects in the range of $1-5 million
Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques, methods of installation and ability to read technical documents and drawings
Strong ability to lead and motivate teams
Must maintain Level 1 Occupational First Aid certificate
Willingness to adhere to safety guidelines at all times
Knowledge of local building codes
Physically fit to meet demands of job and capable of work outdoors in all weather
Excellent oral communication skills in English
Ability to always maintain a professional demeanor, to adapt to everchanging setting, ability to work productively and harmoniously with co-workers
Proven success at taking ownership for one’s responsibilities, being punctual and delivering outcomes within the defined timeframe

Responsibilities Include:
Read architectural and structural blueprints, shop drawings, elevations, sections and construction details. Relay concerns if instructions are unclear.
Understand construction sequencing and how individual tasks integrate with other trades and project activities
Understand requirements of major trades at rough in and finishing stages
Attend meetings with Site Supervisor and Project Manager
Direct, assign tasks and motivate carpenters, laborers, and subcontractors
Lead by example through quality workmanship, professionalism, punctuality and accountability
Ensure the project site is safe and clean, enforce safety policies and building codes; hold safety meeting
Use/store project materials properly to avoid waste/shortages. Immediately address deficiencies to prevent production delays.
Engage in proper tool maintenance and report any damages, misuse or lost/stolen tools
Complete post-construction repairs and maintenance, as required
