The Village of Taunton Mills has an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Part Time Maintenance Aide to join their team in Retirement.

Working 30 hours biweekly, Fridays and Saturdays, four days in two weeks rotating schedule.

Working Hours: 08:00 - 16:0

Status: Permanent Part-Time

Location: 3790 Brock Street North, Whitby ON

Expected Start Date: End of August

The hiring rate for this role is $21.23 per collective agreement/employee association agreement.

As a new Maintenance Team Member joining our Village Team, you will:

Be comfortable working at heights and with exposure to outside weather conditions and understand the physical expectations of maintenance work.

Handle Resident’s personal items with care and respect.

Communicate the nature of mechanical problems and possible solutions effectively with minimal supervision.

Be comfortable lifting 15-25 lbs.

Have general knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electricity, hot water heating systems, and air exchange units.





Possess the ability to deal with the fire alarm, sprinkler systems, call system, and other emergency equipment for the Village.

Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members

Be willing to work in a fast-paced workplace.

Have exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team.

Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture.

It would be an asset, but not required, if our new Maintenance team member has:

Experience working in a Long-Term Care or Retirement Home setting.

An awareness and understanding of infection control practices, workplace hazardous materials and chemicals (WHMIS), as well as, all relevant health and safety procedures.

Skill in operating common hand and power tools.
