Okanagan Indian Band Group of Companies is seeking an organized, innovative and strategic Operations Manager to actively lead and grow our business portfolio across sectors including environmental stewardship, construction, real estate development, public works, and more.
Under the direction of the CEO, you will apply critical and creative thinking to driving sustainable economic success for the Okanagan Indian Band, managing business development and building strong partnerships aligned with the values and vision of the OKIB.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and deliver business reports, summaries, plans, and updates to the CEO
Design and implement business strategies, plans, and procedures, setting comprehensive goals for performance and growth
Develop and maintain close working relationships with designated businesses, partners, potential investors, vendors, and other business development staff in the region
Communication & Reporting
Guide communication through the business website and company social media
Guide reporting to all stakeholders, including annual, corporate, quarterly, and community/project reporting is being completed
Procurement
Support member and community-owned businesses to capture directed procurement awarding opportunities
Monitor activities on BC Bid, BidCentral, MERX, Nations Connect,
and others for opportunities to match business partners and designated businesses
Work with ONA and BC Hydro to identify current and future potential opportunities for directed procurement related to ongoing operations, maintenance and new capital spending programs
Working together with ONA and BC Hydro, establish a community-specific directed procurement target
Develop and maintain an up-to-date directory of community and member-owned businesses, contractors, and sole proprietors and share this with ONA and BC Hydro
Identify the need or interest at the community level for information, training, capacity building or networking activities to strengthen bid response
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Solid digital literacy, displaying strengths in all microsoft 365 applications, research, and electronic presentations
Excellent written, listening, presentation, and cross-collaboration skills
Ability to follow directions, maintain procedure
Work flexibly and independently under pressure, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines
good organizational, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality
Valid BC Driver’s license
