Venor is proud to partner with Saint Luke’s Community Living / Anglican Homes Inc. in the search for its next Executive Director.
The Organization Saint Luke’s Community Living, owned and operated by Anglican Homes Inc., is a not-for-profit organization providing affordable senior living in the Waterford Valley of St. John’s. The organization promotes independent living for seniors within a modern, campus-style setting featuring cottages, apartments, and townhouses designed to foster connection, interaction, and mutual support among residents. Ageing Well in the Right Place is a foundational pillar of the organization’s approach and reflects its broader commitment to promoting the well-being, independence, and quality of life of community members. This philosophy is grounded in a holistic approach to supporting individuals as they age, with a focus on creating connected, inclusive, and supportive environments. The organization offers wellness, social, recreational, and community-based programming for residents and community members, while creating opportunities that benefit the broader community. Saint Luke’s Home, a long-term care facility, is also owned by Anglican Homes Inc. and operated by Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (NLHS).
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will provide overall leadership and oversight of operations, programming, property, staff, and community services. The Executive Director will be accountable for the effective management of the organization while working closely with the Board to advance its strategic priorities and long-term sustainability. This is a broad, hands-on leadership role requiring an individual who can maintain a strategic, big-picture perspective while remaining actively engaged in the organization’s day-to-day operations.
The Executive Director will be responsible for a diverse range of functions, including:
Overseeing property management, maintenance, and groundskeeping.
Providing financial oversight, including budgeting, financial reporting,



and overall fiscal management.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with community members, staff, administration, partner organizations, and other stakeholders.
Providing the Board with the information, advice, and insight required to support effective governance and sound decision-making.
Identifying and pursuing funding opportunities to support the organization’s ongoing operations and long-term sustainability.
Anticipating and managing organizational risks while identifying opportunities and priorities for future growth and sustainability.
Ensuring programming, services, and community initiatives continue to effectively meet the needs of the community.
The Ideal Candidate Post-secondary education, ideally in Management, Administration, Business, or a related field.
Five or more years of progressive leadership experience in a small business, not-for-profit, community-based organization, or similar environment.
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Demonstrated financial management experience, including budgeting, financial reporting, and overall financial oversight.
Experience as an Executive Director working with and supporting a volunteer Board of Directors would be an asset.
Experience in property management, facilities, maintenance, or tenant services would be an asset.
Experience managing staff in a unionized environment would be considered an asset.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-management skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across a diverse range of stakeholders.
Experience identifying and pursuing funding opportunities would be an asset.




Previous experience working with seniors would be considered an asset.
A calm, patient, approachable, and empathetic leadership style, with a high degree of emotional intelligence and the ability to navigate sensitive or challenging situations effectively.
A proactive and accountable leader who demonstrates sound judgment, takes initiative, manages risk effectively, and remains focused on the organization’s long-term success.
