Primary Care Alberta is seeking a Program Lead, Early Years Health Promotion to advance population health initiatives and support innovative approaches that improve health outcomes for children and families across Alberta.As a key member of the Healthy Children & Families (HCF) team within the Promoting Health, Partnerships and Innovation department, you will provide leadership for the planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of provincial health promotion initiatives. You will lead projects, guide strategic priorities, and support quality improvement and change management activities that strengthen outcomes for children and families.In this role, you will apply your expertise in population health and health promotion to develop and support implementation of evidence-informed policies, frameworks, and strategies. You will identify and evaluate evidence, analyze complex information, and translate findings into recommendations that support decision-making and system improvements.As the Program Lead, your ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with diverse partners will help advance integrated approaches to health promotion and disease prevention. You will also provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to support team success and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Description: Reporting to the Manager, Early Years Health Promotion, the Program Lead provides leadership for the planning,
implementation, coordination, and evaluation of population health promotion initiatives that support healthy child development and family well-being across Alberta. As a member of the HCF leadership team, this role contributes to strategic planning, quality improvement, and service enhancement activities aligned with Primary Care Alberta priorities.The Program Lead leads provincial projects and initiatives, providing guidance and mentorship to multidisciplinary teams while supporting the development of evidence-informed practices and evaluation approaches. The role works collaboratively with internal and external partners, including government ministries, health system partners, school authorities, community organizations, and Primary Care Alberta teams, to advance integrated approaches to health promotion and disease prevention.Key responsibilities include supporting implementation and change management activities, conducting environmental scans, developing evaluation and reporting plans, facilitating stakeholder engagement, monitoring project-specific budgets, and identifying emerging trends and opportunities. The Program Lead provides consultation and expertise in health promotion, population health, program planning, and evaluation, translating research and evidence into practical recommendations that improve health outcomes for children and families across Alberta.Strong leadership, communication, relationship-building, analytical,
and project management skills are essential for success in this role.

Required Qualifications: Masters’ degree in health, population health, health promotion, or related field.Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications: A minimum of 3 years in a leadership and program planning role, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity.A minimum of 3 years experience working with Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel required as well as virtual meeting software (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom).
Preferred Qualifications: At least 3 years experience working with child and youth health promotion.
