As the Shop Supervisor, you are an organized and results-driven service professional with experience coordinating repair and maintenance operations, managing work orders, and scheduling technician workloads.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and supporting mechanics and apprentices in a fast-paced shop environment. WHY THE KOOTENAYS? Nearby Christina Lake, known for some of the warmest tree-lined waters in Canada, offers boating, beaches, fishing, and stunning scenery - making it one of the most desirable places to live in the region KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Prioritize repair and maintenance jobs and schedule work for Mechanics.
Open and close work orders, ensuring all data is correct.
Track
Mechanicstime.
Prepare work orders forthe Service
Manager.
Document all work performed and recommended on the work order.
Communicate withthe partsdepartment to obtain required parts.
Communicate with Service Manager ifadditionalwork is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
Work in compliance with Company Health & Safety policies, and OHSA standards.
Instruct Mechanics and Apprentices in proper procedures. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS As a member of the Summit Truck & Equipment Repair team, we expect you bring the following to the table: Experiencemanaging and delegating tasks to team members.
Experience in truck and trailer maintenance and repair is an asset.
Valid Class 5 Driver''sLicenserequired.
Class 1licensewould be an asset.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to organize and prioritizeworkflowin an efficient manner.
Working knowledge of CVSE inspection standards and the Motor Vehicle Act of Canada.
Teamwork and ability to share knowledge by teaching and coaching junior Mechanics. POSITION BENEFITS Wageis$27-$35 per hour, depending on experience. 4 on/4 off rotationwith 11.75-hour day shifts.
