The mandate A world‑calibre steel producer located in Eastern Ontario, part of a major North American industrial group with more than 500 employees, is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor for its plant in L’Orignal. The organization is recognized for the quality of its production and invests genuinely in the growth and advancement of its people. Reporting to the Maintenance Director (melt shop / melting furnace sector), you will lead a crew of approximately twenty people in a true floor‑level leadership role. The mandate is broad: health and safety, quality, efficiency, cost and service.
The role day to day Lead, mobilize and develop a mechanical maintenance team of approximately 20 people in a unionized environment.
Champion a safety culture: audits, monthly safety meetings, safety observations, and accident reporting and investigation.
Determine required repairs using reports and maintenance schedules; plan work schedules, production shutdowns and repairs.
Assign tasks, set priorities and initiate preventive and corrective actions to meet deadlines.
Ensure employee training, communicate performance expectations, evaluate performance and provide coaching.




Ensure compliance with ISO procedures, company policies and the collective agreement.
Produce daily shift reports and approve weekly timesheets.
The ideal profile A degree in mechanical or industrial engineering; relevant heavy‑industry experience is a significant asset.
Prior experience in an industrial or manufacturing workplace (steel mill, processing plant) is a major asset.
Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
French‑English bilingualism, an asset.
Hands‑on leadership, strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities and unplanned events in a production setting.

Permanent, full‑time position, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
