The Position
To provide epidemiological and real-world evidence to support asset reimbursement and business initiatives as required.

This job posting is for an existing vacant position.

Responsibilities

Identify evidence gaps and Lead/co-lead the creation of real-world evidence (RWE), epidemiological, and phase IV research initiatives that support business objectives for Boehringer Ingelheim Canada's various portfolio of products and corresponding therapeutic areas

Lead the development and execution of evidence generation strategies across the product lifecycle to support health technology assessment (HTA) submissions, reimbursement negotiations, value demonstration, and ongoing market access optimization

Monitor emerging evidence requirements, reimbursement trends, and methodological advancements within Canada and internationally to proactively identify opportunities and risks impacting market access and evidence generation strategies

Provide guidance to the Market Access Team on outcomes research projects, and inform on options for parameters/outcomes for potential risk share type of agreements

Other project priorities as required

This position is based in the Burlington, Ontario office located at 5180 South Service Road and is flexible . Employees in flexible roles are required to be at the office a minimum of 50% of the time each month and must report to the office when requested and required by their Manager/Department.

Requirements

MSc or PhD in epidemiology or related health sciences area.

3-5 years of experience leading epidemiological projects and real world evidence studies within the healthcare (pharmaceutical/medical technology) industry or research organization / consultancy

Experience conducting literature reviews and synthesizing results for insights

Experience working with Canadian administrative claims, EMR, registry, or linked health datasets





Experience managing external research vendors and academic collaborators and project budgets

Ability to lead cross-functional teams in the development and execution of complex projects, ensuring alignment of objectives, timelines, and deliverables

Working knowledge of epidemiological methods and principles

A strong understanding of relevant clinical and health outcomes is essential, as is the ability to work across several different therapeutic areas

Must be a positive minded, creative thinking person that can work well on cross functional teams

Prior experience in designing and running prospective and retrospective observational studies is required

A comprehensive understanding of clinical trial design and experience in protocol development would be an asset

Familiarity with indirect treatment comparisons, external control arms, and advanced causal inference methodologies would be considered an asset

The salary range for this position is from $138,150 to $184,230. Performance, relevant experience and competency in the role will be a key factor in driving the compensation offered.
