**Job Title: Construction Labourer**
**Job Description**
This role involves working as a construction labourer on various civil and formwork projects, supporting carpenters, performing site cleanup, shovelling, demolition, and other hands-on tasks.
You will move between sites as needed and work primarily outdoors alongside other labourers and a labourer foreman.
**Responsibilities**
Assist carpenters and other tradespeople with day-to-day tasks on civil and formwork projects.
Perform general site cleanup, including removing debris, sweeping, and maintaining a tidy and safe work area.
Carry out shovelling, demolition, and other physically demanding labour tasks as required.
Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete assigned duties.
Move materials and equipment around the site, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs repetitively and carefully.
Follow directions from the labourer foreman and site supervisors, asking questions when clarification is needed.
Work independently on assigned tasks while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
Support less glamorous but essential site tasks to keep projects running smoothly.
Communicate clearly with team members to coordinate work and maintain a safe environment.
Adapt to working on different sites as project needs change.
**Essential Skills**
At least 6 months of construction experience in a labourer or similar role.
Comfort using a variety of hand and power tools in a construction setting.
Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively and handle materials safely.
Willingness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Experience with general labour tasks such as demolition, shovelling, and site cleanup.
Capability to follow directions accurately and work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
Reliable work ethic with a positive attitude and readiness to take on all assigned tasks.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Experience in civil construction, formwork, or skilled labour is an asset.
Experience as a general labourer or skilled labourer on construction sites.
Comfort working in a rustic environment with limited shelter.
Willingness to perform less glamorous tasks that are essential to project success.
Demonstrated ability to work safely around tools, equipment, and other trades.
Openness to mentorship and learning new skills on the job.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Burnaby, BC.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
