**Job Title: Material Handler**
**Job Description**
The Material Handler works in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment to move, store, and accurately track electronic components and other materials.
This role focuses on safe forklift and material handling equipment operation, precise inventory control in the ERP system, and timely support of production activities while maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-focused workspace.
**Work Environment**
This role is based in a large, organized, and clean production and warehouse facility with multiple departments on the production floor.
The environment is generally quiet to moderate, though it can be louder during morning shifts due to operating machinery and equipment and quieter in the afternoon.
Employees may occasionally be exposed to dust, solder, metals, higher noise levels, and physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, with appropriate protective equipment provided.
The standard shift runs Monday to Friday, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with potential overtime and flexible schedule during busy periods.
The work involves regular use of stand-up reach forklifts, manual and powered pallet jacks, RF scanners, ERP systems, reel counters, scales, and other material handling and packaging tools.

**Responsibilities**
Load and unload pallets and other parts from shelves, racking, trucks, boxes, containers, and carts using manual and powered pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
Safely operate a stand-up reach forklift in accordance with all safety and compliance standards in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment.
Maintain organized inventory by location, count, and status, ensuring accurate cycle counts and stock integrity.
Transact all material movements in the ERP system to match physical movement of parts and maintain accurate records.
Accurately pick, count, label, and transact parts for production operations according to pick lists and ad hoc requests.
Expedite materials and transactions to support manufacturing operations and minimize production delays.
Maintain and deliver in-process inventory to point-of-use workstations on the production floor.
Verify and receive materials against purchase orders in the ERP system, ensuring accuracy of quantities and part numbers.
Use reel counters and scales to accurately count inventory, particularly for electronic components and fragile materials.
Apply appropriate packaging and handling methods to protect materials from damage, including electrostatic discharge prevention and handling of moisture-sensitive parts.
Store and organize parts following material handling guidance such as FIFO, locator organization, and weight considerations.
Enter and update cycle counts in the ERP system and reconcile any discrepancies.
Verify inventory computations by comparing system records to physical stock counts and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors as needed.
Verify, reconcile, and transact materials returned from manufacturing to maintain accurate inventory levels.
Process inventory adjustments in the ERP system while following the appropriate approval hierarchy.
Package parts according to part specifications and follow detailed specifications for orientation of parts in trays and on tape and reel.
Select the correct pockets and tape for tape-and-reel packaging to ensure proper presentation to production.
Maintain safety standards and 5S workplace organization, keeping work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Collaborate closely with team members, production staff, and other departments to ensure smooth material flow across the facility.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support warehouse, shipping and receiving, and production operations.
**Essential Skills**
At least 1 year of relevant experience in inventory or warehouse work.
At least 1 year of stand-up reach forklift experience.
Valid Class 2 forklift certification.
Hands-on experience with material handling, including loading, unloading, picking, packing, and general warehouse labor.
Experience operating stand-up forklifts and using manual and powered pallet jacks.
Proficiency with ERP systems for inventory transactions and material movement.
Basic computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office applications.
Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Robust attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work as a self-starter with minimal supervision.
Experience handling fragile materials, particularly electronic components and sensitive parts.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs on a regular basis.
Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
Ability to work versatile schedules when needed to support business demands.
Authorization to work full-time in Canada for any employer.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Burnaby, BC.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
