**Job Title: General Production Worker**
**Job Description**
The General Production Worker supports a highly automated, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment by rotating between feeding finished candy onto the dumping table, inspecting product quality, and packaging finished goods.

This role ensures that all packaged products meet quality, food safety, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work area.

The position involves working closely with machine operators, handling materials, and contributing to continuous production on rotating continental shifts.
**Responsibilities**
Rotate between feeding finished candy onto the dumping table and inspecting candy quality to ensure all packaged products meet established quality standards.

Pack bagged candy into cardboard boxes and manually load boxes onto empty pallets for transfer to the warehouse, as required by specific machines.

Communicate material requirements and shortages to the appropriate personnel to maintain continuous production flow.

Provide support to machine operators by assisting with production tasks and addressing issues that impact line efficiency.

Continuously clean the area surrounding the workstation and maintain general work center cleanliness throughout the shift.

Support major line cleaning activities and participate in thorough end-of-shift cleaning to maintain GMP and food safety standards.

Identify and fix jam-ups on the line to minimize downtime and maintain consistent production.

Accurately record batch numbers and time of day for every new pallet of candy to support traceability and documentation requirements.

Follow and apply all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions relevant to the production process.

Understand, participate in, and support all safety programs, policies, and initiatives within the manufacturing location.

Ensure all packaged product produced meets all GMP and food safety requirements at all times.

Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support production and facility operations.
**Essential Skills**
At least 6 months of general labour or general production experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs repeatedly and safely during the course of the shift.

Experience with packing, general labour, production, and packaging tasks.

Basic understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions in a production environment.

Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety requirements consistently.

Strong attention to detail for inspecting product quality and accurately recording batch information.

Willingness and ability to work rotating continental day and night shifts in a 24/7 facility.

Effective communication skills to relay material requirements and collaborate with team members.

Capability to maintain a clean and organized work area and follow established sanitation practices.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Experience or certification in forklift operation is an asset.

Background in sanitation within a manufacturing or GMP environment is an advantage.





Previous experience with machine operating in a production setting is beneficial.

Comfort working with automated and state-of-the-art production equipment.

Ability to adapt to changing tasks and support various stages of the production line as needed.

**Work Environment**
This role is based in a large, GMP-compliant manufacturing facility with heavily automated, state-of-the-art equipment.

The setting is temperature-controlled and very clean, with strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices.

Team members must comply with all GMP requirements, including wearing personal protective equipment such as hairnets, beard nets, coats, and safety shoes.

The facility employs approximately 400–500 people, with about 100 employees per crew across four crews, fostering a collaborative, team-based atmosphere.

The operation runs 24/7 on rotating continental shifts (7 AM–7 PM and 7 PM–7 AM). A typical rotation includes working Monday–Tuesday days, Wednesday–Thursday off, then Friday–Sunday nights in the first week, followed by Monday–Tuesday off, Wednesday–Thursday days, and Friday–Sunday off in the second week, continuing in this pattern.

Candidates who are only able to work either days or nights may be considered for contract opportunities, depending on operational needs.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Hamilton, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in Hamilton,ON.
