Human Resources Manager - rail project

We are seeking an experienced HR skilled recognized for their strategic thinking, attention to detail, collaborative spirit, and ability to support managers in a demanding and evolving project-based environment.

This individual will play a key role in supporting operations and implementing engaging, effective, and sustainable HR practices.

Systra Canada is working on numerous rail projects, including the high-speed rail project connecting Quebec City to Toronto: ALTO.

Key Responsibilities

Advise and support managers on all human resources-related issues, including performance management, labor relations, employee engagement, and team development.

Develop, implement, and refine HR strategies, programs, and policies in line with the organization's needs.

Support recruitment, onboarding, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.

Serve as a key resource in change management and in facilitating organizational transformations.

Ensure compliance with laws, standards, internal policies, and best practices in human resources.





Manage the HR team as well as complex or sensitive cases related to labor relations, personnel issues, and disciplinary or administrative actions.

Produce HR analyses, recommendations, and metrics to support decision-making and the optimization of management practices.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations, administration, or a related field

At least 12 to 15 years of relevant experience in human resources, including at least 5 years of experience in major infrastructure projects (engineering, rail, and/or construction sectors)At least 10 years of experience managing an HR team

Bilingualism is essential: excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written

Strong leadership, influence, communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative spirit
