Employment Type: Full Time

Hours Per Week: 40

Working Hours: Monday–Friday; staggered daytime shifts within the school’s operating hours of 7:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Type Of Child Care: 3 - 5 Years

About Together We Grow
Together We Grow Montessori School is a new Montessori Casa program preparing to open in Vancouver’s West Broadway community. Our school will serve children ages 2.5 to 5 in thoughtfully prepared, mixed-age Montessori classrooms.

Our approach is grounded in authentic Montessori practice, respect for each child, uninterrupted learning, careful observation, and meaningful partnerships with families. We are creating a calm, beautiful, and purposeful environment where educators are respected as professionals and supported in building a strong classroom community.

About The Position
We are seeking experienced and dedicated Montessori Casa Lead Teachers to establish and guide our mixed-age classrooms for children ages 2.5 to 5.

The Lead Teacher will maintain a thoughtfully prepared Montessori environment, present materials, observe and document children’s development, guide the classroom team, and build respectful relationships with families.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a mixed-age Montessori Casa classroom for children ages 2.5 to 5

Prepare and maintain an organized, beautiful, accessible, and developmentally appropriate Montessori environment

Protect and guide a consistent, uninterrupted Montessori work cycle

Present Montessori lessons individually and in small groups





Observe children and plan lessons based on their interests, readiness, and developmental needs

Maintain accurate observation notes, lesson records, and developmental documentation

Support children’s independence, concentration, confidence, and sense of responsibility

Use respectful and developmentally appropriate guidance practices

Establish predictable classroom routines and support smooth transitions

Provide direction, modelling, and mentorship to classroom team members

Communicate professionally and compassionately with parents and guardians

Participate in family conferences, staff meetings, school events, and professional development

Follow all licensing, supervision, health, safety, emergency, and confidentiality requirements

Support meals, toileting, rest, outdoor play, and other daily care routines as required

Contribute to a respectful, reflective, and collaborative school culture

Required Qualifications

Valid British Columbia Early Childhood Educator Certificate

Montessori Early Childhood or Casa credential for ages 3–6 from an established Montessori teacher education program

Experience working in a Montessori Casa or preschool classroom

Strong knowledge of Montessori philosophy, classroom leadership, and material presentations

Current Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain it before employment

Strong observation, record-keeping, communication, and classroom-management skills

Professional, dependable, reflective, and collaborative approach





Eligibility to work in Canada

Ability to provide satisfactory professional references and complete a Criminal Record Check

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum three years of Montessori Casa classroom experience

AMI, AMS, MACTE-recognized, or comparable Montessori Early Childhood credential

Previous experience as a Montessori Lead Teacher or Head Guide

Experience leading an uninterrupted Montessori work cycle

Experience mentoring and supporting classroom assistants

Experience communicating with families and conducting parent conferences

Additional Infant/Toddler or Special Needs certification

Candidates with strong Montessori training and slightly less than three years of experience may also be considered.

Compensation And Benefits

$29–$34 per hour, based on qualifications and experience

Full-time, permanent, Monday-to-Friday position

Start Date
The anticipated start date is December 1, 2026, to support paid pre-opening training, classroom preparation, and staff orientation. The school is working toward a January 2027 opening, subject to the completion of construction and licensing approvals.
