Overview

If so, we want you to be part of our team as an Employment Relations Specialist at our WorkBC Centre in Victoria!

About the Role:

The Employment Relations Specialist will leverage their knowledge of Labour Market Information (LMI) and employer connections to support clients in securing and maintaining employment through the WorkBC Employment Services Program. This role involves employer outreach, job development, and client support to ensure successful employment outcomes. Services are delivered through in-person, virtual, and outreach channels.

Responsibilities
Employer Outreach & Engagement

Develop and implement an annual Employer Outreach Plan in collaboration with the Community Engagement Manager.

Increase employer awareness of WorkBC services, including job matching, Wage Subsidy, Unpaid Work Experience, and Job Creation Partnerships.





Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers to create employment opportunities for WorkBC clients.

Organize and facilitate employer events such as job fairs, employer forums, and networking sessions.

Keep up-to-date with labour market trends and provide insights to the WorkBC team.

Job Development & Client Support

Actively promote and market clients to the employer community to facilitate job placements.

Provide job search coaching, including resume writing, interview preparation, and job matching.

Support clients in securing employment contracts and work experience placements.

Monitor job placements, providing retention services to ensure sustainable employment outcomes.

Assist clients who have been laid off or terminated in finding re-employment opportunities.

Maintain accurate and timely records in databases such as ICM

Community & Employer Collaboration

Participate in employer and community events to promote WorkBC Employment Services.

Network with employer groups and associations to create job opportunities.

Provide job coaching support to employers to enhance workplace orientation and job retention.

Organize and attend community engagement activities,



including business information sessions for companies experiencing layoffs or closures.

Qualifications

Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in a relevant field (e.g., career development, employment services, social work, human resources, vocational rehabilitation, or related disciplines).

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in employment services, counselling, or related fields.

Experience in marketing, sales, business relationship development, and customer service.

Robust knowledge of local labour market trends, job search strategies, and employer needs.

Experience working with individuals facing complex barriers to employment.

Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.

Strong administrative and computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Multilingual proficiency (English plus French or another language) is an asset.

Professional certification (e.g., CCDP, RRP) is preferred but not required.

Full-time

Wage Range
$53,056.00 - $55,470.00

Work Conditions
On-site in an office environment.
