Work Package Manager - Compliance & Emergent Initiatives
$62.63/hour, depending on experience
Contract Length: 6-12 months with possibility for extension
Location: Surrey, British Columbia
Raise is currently hiring a Work Package Manager - Compliance & Emergent Initiatives on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
Work Package Manager - Compliance & Emergent Initiatives in this role will be part of the Vault Mitigation Team responsible for delivering urgent, high-profile projects to mitigate safety risks, including distribution end-of-life replacements, maintenance, and asset refurbishment (such as the Victoria Integrated Network and province-wide MKII/PMH Livefront Switchgear replacements). Collaborate across internal and external stakeholders—including Planning, Asset Management, Engineering, Standards, Field Operations, and Indigenous Relations to lead protected project delivery and ensure reliable, affordable, and clean electricity for customers. The team currently has 2 projects ramping up replacing the Victoria Integrated Network and the remaining MKII/PMH Livefront Switchgear province wide.
Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end processes for discrete tasks, including project progress monitoring, financial and operational reporting, forecasting, design management, construction management, and field data management.
Act as the "Contract Owner" or "Hydro Rep" on contracts to review or approve deliverables and invoices, reduce 's exposure to contract claims, and participate in negotiations with suppliers and contractors.
Engage collaboratively with cross-functional teams to provide clear direction, facilitate complex decision-making, identify and elevate risks or roadblocks, and drive project objectives.
Analyze and interpret complex financial or asset-related data to drive progress, verify field data for technical teams, and translate complex technical solutions into actionable steps.
Ensure seamless communication between field crews and technical teams to report and document defects, site issues, and project close-out requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of progressively complex project, program, or business management experience (utility sector background is considered an asset).
Demonstrated leadership, communication, facilitation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, supported by strong planning, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
High emotional intelligence, including the ability to receive feedback, learn continuously, and remain agile and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong ability to connect tactical details to big‑picture strategy while maintaining focus on immediate tasks.
Education and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree or Project and/or Program Management certification, or equivalent experience
Additional Information
Travel as required for project delivery or team engagement
Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
Every contractor must supply their own "Smart Phone". This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network
