Human Resources Business Partner Location: CHANEL Vancouver Oakridge Boutique Reports to: People & Organisation Director Contract: Full-time and Permanent Position Travel: this role will require occasional, planned travels, across Canada (mainly in AB, and occasionally in ON & QC.)
Your role @ Chanel: CHANEL is seeking a People & Organisation (P&O;) Business Partner to support our Fashion and Fragrance & Beauty retail teams across Western Canada, with a primary focus on Vancouver and Calgary. As a trusted advisor to boutique leadership, you will help shape an exceptional employee experience across the full talent lifecycle—from talent attraction and onboarding to performance, development, engagement, and employee relations. This role is highly collaborative and requires a strong in-person presence at the Vancouver Oakridge Boutique, at least four days per week, to remain closely connected to our retail teams and business priorities.
Strategic HR Partnership & Employee Relations Partner closely with Fashion Boutique and Fragrance & Beauty Retail Environment
Support leaders to develop and deliver people initiatives aligned with business priorities.
Provide day-to-day HR guidance, coaching, and support to Boutique Directors and management teams.
Lead regular people discussions with Boutique Directors, including workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, talent development, and engagement.
Support employee meetings and performance processes, and partner with leaders on disciplinary and corrective-action processes, ensuring consistency, fairness, and appropriate documentation.
Identify opportunities to strengthen people processes, policies, and ways of working to support organizational effectiveness.
Develop and implement talent integration, recognition, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
Analyze employee feedback and survey results, and support leaders in translating insights into meaningful engagement actions.
Lead and participate in relevant committees, including Health & Safety and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
Talent Attraction, Engagement & Onboarding Partner with the P&O; team and boutique leaders to continuously improve recruitment strategies, tools, and candidate experience.
Coach hiring managers on effective interviewing, selection, and hiring practices.
Collaborate with Boutique Directors to identify and attract exceptional retail talent for each location.
Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including candidate assessment, offer development, compensation discussions, contract preparation, and preboarding.
Build structured onboarding plans with hiring managers to ensure new employees are welcomed, equipped, and set up for success.
Maintain accurate employee and job data in Workday, including new-hire entries and employee changes.
Track, analyze, and present recruitment metrics—including time-to-fill and hiring trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
Conduct exit interviews and identify themes that can inform retention and employee-experience strategies.
Learning, Development & Talent Management Partner with Boutique Management teams to assess team learning needs across soft skills,



technical capabilities, and business competencies.
Recommend and coordinate development opportunities that support individual growth and business performance.
Build tailored development roadmaps for key talent and potential succession candidates, considering individual needs, operational realities, and organizational priorities.
Support leaders in building a culture of feedback, coaching, recognition, and continuous learning.

What you will bring to the role: 7–10 years of progressive HR Business Partner experience, or equivalent experience in a strategic HR role.
Fluency in English and Mandarin, both written and spoken.
Strong knowledge of Canadian employment and labour legislation, with sound judgment and discretion when managing sensitive or complex matters.
Strong understanding of the Western Canadian retail talent market.
Demonstrated experience coaching leaders and influencing outcomes in a collaborative, service-oriented environment.
Experience in recruitment and/or talent acquisition, including both high-volume and specialized searches.
Experience using an HRIS; Workday experience is strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of LinkedIn Recruiter or similar talent-sourcing platforms.
Strong project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and accuracy.
A collaborative, proactive approach and the ability to influence without direct authority.
