Are you passionate about improving healthcare through research, innovation, and meaningful system change? Do you thrive in collaborative environments where you can bridge research and practice to improve outcomes for patients, families, and communities?Primary Care Alberta (PCA) is seeking a Research Coordinator to lead the coordination, integration, and execution of research and evaluation activities embedded within the Integrated Care Program (ICP) and support the JOURNEY project.
Description: The Integrated Care Program is a coordinated, patient-centered model designed to improve care transitions for individuals with complex health and social needs. Originally developed through implementation science research and adapted to Calgary through the CIHR-funded Transforming Health with Integrated Care (THINC) initiative, the program is now operational across two Calgary hospital sites. While embedded in routine care delivery, ICP continues to be evaluated to understand its impact on patient outcomes, health system performance, sustainability, and value. The Joint Initiative for Optimizing Understanding of Resources and Needs in Equitable Indigenous Youth & Elder Care Transitions (JOURNEY) is a community-based participatory research initiative working in partnership with Indigenous communities to strengthen understanding of hospital-to-home transitions, identify service gaps and community priorities, and support implementation of Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action that pertain to healthcare. Through engagement with Indigenous communities and health system partners, the project informs culturally safe care and contributes to system improvement through collaborative research and knowledge translation. The Research Coordinator serves as the primary link between program operations and research teams, ensuring research activities, evaluation frameworks,

and data requirements are effectively integrated into real-world care delivery. Working alongside Indigenous partners, clinicians, operational leaders, and researchers, the successful candidate will coordinate research implementation, support data collection and analysis, facilitate engagement activities, contribute to health system performance and return on investment evaluation, and help translate evidence into meaningful improvements in care delivery and outcomes.
