Preference will be given to those candidates who:
- Have training in a related field (e.g. Educational Assistant or similar course);

- Value inclusiveness as the celebration and acceptance of all people.
Applicants for Educational Associate positions within Prairie Spirit must be prepared to support students in the following areas:
- Under the supervision of a teacher or other professional staff, assist students who require intensive support in the development of gross and fine motor abilities and basic life skills by demonstration,
physical assistance and manipulation.
- Provide students with assistance in dressing, eating, toileting, and transportation. An Educational Associate may be asked to administer medication in accordance with Board of Education Policy 413 – Administering Medications and Medical Treatment to Students.
Substitute Positions
Applications for substitute positions will be accepted throughout the year. Processing of applications is done based on school needs and in order of receipt.
Once your application is approved, you will receive a letter detailing the documents you will be required to submit prior to your placement on the substitute list and prior to placement in a school. The submission of these documents is not required until you have received a letter of approval. You are not eligible for employment until your name has been placed on the appropriate substitute list.
