Lead Indigenous engagement initiatives at Brock University in Niagara Region, Ontario. As Vice-Provost, advance reconciliation and foster relationships with Indigenous communities and students.
As a key member of Brock's academic leadership team, the Vice-Provost for Indigenous Engagement provides strategic advice and leadership to implement the Indigenous Strategic Plan. This role emphasizes collaboration with Indigenous communities and building culturally grounded programs to support student success. Emphasizing trust and partnership, you will guide initiatives aligned with institutional priorities and community needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement Brock's Indigenous Strategic Plan across the institution
• Build relationships with Indigenous communities and stakeholders
• Support culturally connected programs for student well-being
• Guide Indigenous curriculum development and research initiatives
• Advise on policies and decision-making related to Indigenous governance
Requirements:
• Indigenous identity and lived experience in local communities
• Earned doctorate or equivalent leadership experience
• Senior leadership role experience in education or public sector
• Proven ability to build reciprocal relationships with communities
• Understanding of Indigenous education and governance
