Your opportunity Reporting to the Dean of Students, under the general direction of the Assistant to the Dean, Community Wellness(ADCW), the Community Wellness Coordinator (CWC) supports the planning and implementation of a wide range of programs designed to promote the well-being and active engagement of the College’s students. The CWC promotes community development, academic success, holistic well-being and personal growth of students through program implementation, leadership development, supporting student organizations, and interactions with students.
Your responsibilities will include Determininglogistical details and activities for events and/or programming
Analyzing and recommending enhancements to student success programs
Implementing plans and process improvements for program and service activities
Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders
Liaising with internal and external contacts to coordinate execution of seminars and workshops
Organizing, summarizing and circulating program and/or course evaluations
Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts
Advising student groups on the development of clubs and societies.
Liaising with internal contacts to ensure consistent administration of embedded student support services.
Essential Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum two (2) years in student life and/or wellness programming, preferably in a college or university setting.
Experience with student-focused event planning, promotion, and execution.
Experience in the delivery and assessment of wellness-related educational programs and co-curricular activities.
Experience working with and advising students, student leaders and/or groups from diverse backgrouds.
Experience developing digital content for websites and other online platforms.
Familiarity with orientation and transition, mentorship, and wellness programming in post-secondary contexts.
Demonstrated ability to provide sound guidance and advice to students, student leaders, and student organizations in a responsive, empathetic, thoughtful and discreet manner.
Demonstrated time-management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task and organize work, and meet tight deadlines while demonstrating excellent attention to details.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 programs (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
Proficiency using social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok) for student communications and outreach purposes.
Ability to exercise tact and sound judgement in dealing with others and difficult issues.
Excellent interpersonal, listening, and written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge and demonstrated application of equity, diversity, and inclusion principals.
Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
Assets (Nonessential) Knowledge of Innis College.
