The opportunity
Reporting to the Vice President of Technical Solutions, the Technical Solutions Specialist is apivotal pre-salesand solutioning role at Real Time Networks. This position directly influences win rates, solution quality, and customer experience by delivering compelling demonstrations, comprehensive Scopes of Work, andaccuratetechnical documentation forKeyTracerandAssetTracersystems.

The Technical Solutions Specialist acts as a trusted technical advisor to customers and a strategic partner to Sales, Product, Delivery, and the RFP Response Team.

Responsibilities:

Conduct discovery sessions to understand customer workflows, operational challenges, and technical requirements.

Deliver tailored product demonstrations that clearly articulate value and differentiation.

Lead technical discussions with IT, security, operations, and executive stakeholders.

Prepare and present solution recommendations, system architectures, and technical validations.

Support Account Executives in developing winning strategies for complex opportunities.

Participate in client-facing planning sessions, roadmap discussions, and solutioning workshops.

Solution Design & Documentation

Develop comprehensive Scopes of Work (SOWs) including system design, hardware specifications, integrations, and deployment considerations.

Produceaccuratequotes, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and configuration documentation.

Ensure all solution designs meet Real Time Networks quality standards and align with product capabilities and delivery requirements.

Maintain consistency and accuracy across all technical documentation and CRM entries.

Collaborate with Deliveryon handovers, confirming scope and customer expectations are documented before implementation begins.

Partner closely with the RFP Response Team to provideaccurate,timely, and high-quality technical content for RFPs, RFIs, and bid submissions.

Validate solution accuracy,



review technical narratives, and ensure alignment with product capabilities and delivery constraints.

Contribute to improving proposal templates, technical content libraries, and response processes.

Act as the technical liaison between Sales, Solutions, and the RFP Response Team to ensure competitive, compliant, and compelling submissions.

Industry Events, Trade Shows & Marketing Support

Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and marketing events as a technical representative.

Support event planning, booth setup, and on-site technical demonstrations.

Engage with prospects, partners, and industry stakeholders to promote Real Time Networks solutions.

Providepost-event insights, lead follow-up support, and contribute to marketing content as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work with Product Management to relay customer feedback, market insights, and feature requests.

Partner with Delivery and Support to ensure solution commitments arefeasibleand customer satisfactionremainshigh.

Support internal training and enablement initiatives for Sales and Delivery teams.

Participate in internal reviews, pipeline discussions, and solution quality audits.

Support process improvements, automation initiatives, and scalable solutioning frameworks.

What you bring:
Education & Experience

Post-secondary degreeinIT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

5+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, systems design, or a relatedexperience.

Demonstrated experience with Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) — this is a required qualification for this role.

Proven ability to develop Scopes of Work, BOMs, and technical proposals for complex technology solutions.

Experience engaging with multi-stakeholder customer environments including IT, security, and operations teams.

French languageproficiencyis an asset.

Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Technical Skills

Physical Access Control Systems (PACS):Experienceconfiguring or installingPACS platforms.





Solution Design: Ability to translate customer requirements into detailed,accuratesystemdrawingsand documentation.

Networking & IT: Working knowledge of LAN/WAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, and enterprise security protocols as they relate to hardware deployments.

Integrations: Familiarity with APIs, SSO, LDAP/Active Directory, and enterprise system integrations.

Software & Platforms:Proficiencywith CRMs, proposal tools, Microsoft 365, and SharePoint.

RFP/Bid Experience: Experience contributing to or leading technical responses for government and enterprise RFPs is a strong asset.

Soft Skills

Outstanding professional presentation and clear communicator — able to translate complex technical concepts forany audience.

Robust consultative instincts with the ability to uncover unstated customer needs and position solutions effectively.

Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines simultaneously.

Collaborative team player with a genuine commitment to customer success and solution quality.

French languageproficiencyis an asset.

Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Travel Requirement:

This role requires approximately 25% travel to trade shows and customer sites across Canada and the United States.

A valid passport and the ability to travel freely throughout Canada and the United States isrequired.

A clean driving record and the ability to rent a car isrequired.
