Cooke is a global seafood company with operations in North America, Europe, South America and Australia. Our company’s success is driven by our dynamic, highly skilled, and innovative management team, supported by dedicated employees who live in coastal communities and contribute to the local area’s economy and sense of community.

Cooke is continuing to mature its digital strategy through stronger demand capture, sharper business case discipline, and clearer accountability between business outcomes and technology delivery. As the Manager, Finance Technology, you lead the technology agenda for our Finance and Accounting functions turning finance priorities into a focused capability roadmap and delivery plan, and ensuring digital initiatives deliver measurable value across the core finance and accounting processes that keep the business running, anchored by record-to-report.

The Role
As Manager, Finance Technology, you own both the near-term (typically 12-month) technology roadmap for Finance and Accounting and the delivery of that roadmap operating within Cooke’s enterprise IT governance, architecture, and delivery frameworks. Finance and Accounting spans general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, tax, and financial planning & analysis. You translate finance priorities into sequenced, executable initiatives, define scope and success criteria, and lead the team that delivers capability-specific technology work. Delivery is coordinated through the Project Manager and within approved plans; you resolve domain-specific delivery issues, and you elevate risks, cross-capability trade-offs, and decisions beyond your authority through governance.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Delivery Management

Lead and develop the delivery team assigned to Finance Technology (e.g., Business Systems Analysts and Project Managers), with potential to scale as the portfolio grows

Conduct regular 1:1s, set objectives, manage performance, and own development planning for your team

Prioritize work, manage day-to-day execution decisions, and ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery against defined standards and commitments

Coordinate domain-specific resources and resolve delivery issues through the Project Manager, within approved plans

Coach team members, build a learning culture, and mentor future team leads

Translate finance and accounting priorities into sequenced, executable initiatives with measurable outcomes

Define scope, constraints, and success criteria for initiatives within the capability

Drive continuous improvement and capability maturity across finance and accounting processes – record-to-report (R2R), plus the finance side of procure-to-pay (accounts payable) and order-to-cash (billing, accounts receivable, and collections) that Finance shares with Procurement and Sales & Marketing

Business Stakeholder Engagement

Act as the primary technology partner for Finance and Accounting leaders, building trust and surfacing needs, pain points, and emerging demand into the intake process

Represent the finance domain in intake triage, prioritization, and governance discussions

Ensure requirements are clearly linked to business outcomes and that stakeholders are aligned on the baseline

Initiative Quality & Business Case Discipline

Ensure each initiative has a clear problem statement, a validated business case, a measurable objective, and a named business sponsor

Support ROI validation and confirm scope, success criteria, and product fit before initiatives are submitted for prioritization or contract

Provide inputs to budgeting and forecasting for the finance technology portfolio

Delivery Readiness, Handoff & Benefits

Confirm initiatives entering delivery have validated requirements, funded scope, and clear ownership, and provide a clean transition to implementation and then support

Stay engaged through delivery to validate readiness, sign off on business outcomes, and support perks realization

Participate in intake, architecture, and stage-gate reviews for initiatives impacting Finance and Accounting

Provide explicit recommendations and decisions within your authority and within agreed governance timelines

Escalate cross-capability trade-offs and decisions beyond your authority through PMO or enterprise governance

Remain accountable for delivery outcomes once initiatives are approved
