Tax Manager

Position Overview: A Tax Manager in a public accounting firm plays a critical role in overseeing and managing tax services for clients. This position involves leading a team of tax professionals, providing expert tax advice, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and delivering exceptional client service. The Tax Manager contributes to the overall success of the firm by providing strategic tax planning and optimization solution

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review federal, provincial, and local tax returns to ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws.
- Develop and implement tax strategies that align with the company’s financial goals and objectives.
- Conduct tax research and stay updated on changes in tax legislation to proactively mitigate risks and identify opportunities.
- Provide expert guidance on tax implications of business decisions, mergers, acquisitions, and new initiatives.
- Lead the tax provision process, including preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors to manage tax audits and inquiries.
- Prepare tax documentation for internal and external stakeholders,



including support for financial statement disclosures.
- Train and mentor junior tax staff and ensure knowledge sharing within the tax team.
- Develop and implement tax-related policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree in Taxation is preferred.
- Professional certification (CPA, CA, or equivalent) is required.
- Solid understanding of Canadian tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
