The successful candidate will be responsible for the company's advocacy and regulatory engagement in support of health and group retirement services. This role demands an expert-level understanding of the Canadian political and public policy landscape, particularly in the areas of health and retirement. The AVP will act as a senior advisor to executive leaders, lead the development and implementation of strategic government affairs and public policy plans, and oversee a team responsible for external interactions in this space. A minimum of 10 years' experience in public policy and government affairs, with a background in the health or financial services sector,
is required. The role also necessitates experience in team leadership, a solid knowledge of the regulatory landscape across Canada, and the ability to build coalitions to advocate on relevant issues. To succeed in this position, candidates must have a proven track record of leadership, the ability to work with large, matrixed organizations, and excellent research, analytical, and communication skills. A bilingual (English/French) proficiency is an asset, and a Master's degree is also beneficial.
