Samaritan’s Purse Canada (SPC) is seeking an organized individual to join our Programs and Projects Department as a Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) Readiness Coordinator.

Samaritan’s Purse is a Christian international relief organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet the needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ. One of the ways Samaritan’s Purse Canada has had open doors to share the gospel is through the shoe box gift program of Operation Christmas Child.

As the DART Readiness Coordinator, you will help prepare and mobilize DART members and International Field Staff (IFS) to serve in disaster response efforts around the world. This role supports recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and deployment while managing the DART roster and coordinating placements to meet emergency response, field office, and technical support needs. This position works closely with the International Disaster Response Unit and Human Resources team to ensure our teams are ready to respond when needed most.

The successful candidate will fulfill a full-time permanent position in the Calgary head office. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package, including life insurance, medical/dental and short-term/long-term disability, RRSP contributions after one year of employment, and 15 vacation days per year to start.

Responsibilities

Oversees management of the DART roster/database – including availability, DART member profiles, deployment history, staffing requirements, and performance feedback





Maintains a comprehensive understanding of the roster – understanding the skills and abilities of DART members and identifying staffing and training opportunities

Works closely with the DART Recruiter to respond to employment inquiries and conduct interviews

Manages the process of ensuring proper contracts, insurance, and all required personal details are kept up to date

Manages logistical support, administrative support, orientation, care, recognition, and appreciation, of DART members, IFS, and their family members/emergency contacts

In collaboration with IHQ Member Care, participates in periodic meetings to promote and ensure the holistic care and support of the IFS and DART members

Maintains an overall knowledge of all Samaritan's Purse projects and activities in order to respond to general inquiries

Acts as the primary point of contact for staff support and wellness

Represents SPC at community, church, and networking events to bolster awareness of the DART and assist with recruitment efforts/growth of the roster

Leads the research, design, review, and dissemination of internally and externally developed support resources such as toolkits and trainings to IFS and DART members

Conduct debriefs for returning staff, document feedback, learnings, and performance

Develops, plans, and facilitates all engagement activities for the SPC DART

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must be committed to Christian values and precepts and be in agreement with the Samaritan’s Purse Statement of Faith

Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related degree required





5+ years of experience in an administrative role

1 year of experience working overseas in a direct relief and development environment

Experience working as part of a Human Resources team, ideally in an international context

Demonstrate a passion for the care and support of international staff

Detailed-oriented, thorough, and accurate

Ability to manage, multi-task, organize, and prioritize

Ability to work independently with little supervision while being in a team workplace

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment

Strong customer service/communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Willing to travel internationally

Additional Requirements

Valid passport and freedom to travel internationally with no restrictions

Valid Driver’s License

Criminal Background Check

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours as required, especially during active deployments and emergency response operations
