Position Summary
BCIT’s School of Transportation is seeking a regular, full-time (1.0 FTE ) BCGEU Faculty, Auto Collision to teach in our collision and refinishing programs at our Burnaby campus. Faculty deliver training in basic theory and related information to enable students to become proficient in auto body repair & refinishing. By imparting their practical knowledge, along with hands‑on shop practice, Faculty prepare students for entry‑level employment in the motor vehicle body repair trade.
Duties & Responsibilities
Instruction to apprenticeship and/or entry‑level students.
Short‑term coverage for full‑time faculty release.
Preparing for classroom presentations and practical demonstrations.
Working collectively with our Department Heads.

Qualifications
ITA Certificate of Qualification with an Inter‑Provincial Red Seal Endorsement (Motor Vehicle Body Repairer – Metal & Paint)
A minimum of five years of recent journeyperson industry experience
Demonstrated knowledge and practical skills necessary to instruct the curriculum
Demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collegial manner within a team
Demonstrated ability to develop course resources and training technologies
Current computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and a Learning management system ( LMS ): ability to manage files located on a database
Provincial Instructor Diploma or previous post‑secondary instructing experience is an asset.
Supervisory experience is an asset.

Salary Range
Salary Range Salary Range: $82,891 - $122,857 per annum.
